welcome to pine & sun! my name is lauren.

i was born and raised on the shores of lake michigan and have always loved being outside. i love to read, garden, cook, and hike. i live in west michigan with my husband and our two dogs, teemo and fox. pine & sun is a passion project that was created in the midst of the pandemic in 2020; i was freshly graduated from college with a degree in graphic design with limited opportunities to stretch my creative muscles. feeling uninspired by the freelance work i was doing, wanting to break free of the more perfectionist methods i’d learned in art school, and becoming influenced by the peace i’d feel when taking long walks in the woods when the rest of the world felt so unsafe, all culminated into a cozy hobby of drawing woodland creatures and animals in my own messy, unkempt style.
